Classifieds

Getting reacquainted into the world of photography, I told myself its probably time to get a new camera (shopping spree? Nah…). After reviewing countless websites and magazines, deliberating if the potential purchase, should be an old school camera or a mirrorless one, my ‘rational’ conscience (like the character ‘Fear’ from Disney’s Inside Out) got the better of me. With mid-range cameras starting from £500 and above, I decided to take baby-steps here – which is why I am sticking with my classic Nikon D90 for now. Armed with 12.3 megapixels, the first DSLR to offer video recording, built-in autofocus motor, Live View shooting mode, ISO sensitivity 200 to 3200, and many more – I must say, it is a decent kit to work with. Life would not be interesting without any drama, so when I took my D90 out of my cabinet and turned it on, low and behold an ‘ERR’ (Error) message popped up in the Control Panel. So, in essence, my Nikon D90 needs a long-overdue repair and service. Since I own this blog, I decided to create my first classified ad, which is ironic since it’s an ad to get my Nikon D90 repaired.

Quotes

So I decided I needed a motivational boost, which led me to my ‘Quotes’ post and the inclusion of the quote caption in my blog. These quotes are meant to be a constant reminder to me in my present state of mind. So if I am intending to be a piker/bum/couch potato (whatever you call a lazy person nowadays), these saying from famous folks will (hopefully) nudge me out of the perilous state that I am in. It is my opinion that the best quotes are spontaneous ones. Well for me, spontaneity does not run through my veins unless I knocked over a few cans of yeast induced water (aka Beer) – so here I am appropriating some famous individual’s saying, to keep me going. Some are mind-boggling, but the simplest and logical ones work for me (go figure).

Startin up…ugh!

Well, it has been a few days setting up my blog site and I have to say it’s not easy as everyone paints it to be. ‘Ooo it’s easy peasy R’ one of my mates would say, ‘Its a walk in a park’ another would say. At one point in time (while developing the site), all I can do is imagine them (talk about overselling) being a piñata with me at the other end, holding a baton, about to swing it at them. But because I have spent money on purchasing the website, hosting site, etc – I have decided to persevere and keep going. I have thus completed the layout of the website and included a slider to showcase the photos I have taken and will take, as I go along this journey. There are still lots to do as you can imagine. This is to me not giving up (for now). Only time will tell…
